More Life is a five-episode drama series I wrote and directed for Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary, with support from PASA and INL. Shot in Sierra Leone, the series tackles the illegal wildlife trade in part using participatory filmmaking and is told entirely in Krio, one of the primary local languages. It aims to shift narratives and increase awareness of wildlife laws in communities where chimpanzees are still hunted, killed, or kept in the pet trade. More Life is actively being screened across provinces in Sierra Leone where human–wildlife conflict and wildlife crime are most prominent, and will soon air on DSTV across Africa.
